KCSO Telemundo 33 is in search of a skilled Broadcast Journalist and Consumer Affairs Reporter. This role involves delivering daily newscasts for the Sacramento and Fresno regions, along with overseeing our consumer reporting segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, shooting, writing, and editing news stories across various platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social media.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver newscasts in a professional manner, covering breaking news during live broadcasts and across all news platforms.
- Produce, shoot, write, and edit news stories for both studio and field reporting.
- Collaborate with the Consumer Affairs Unit to address consumer issues in the targeted markets.
- Write and generate content for broadcast and digital platforms, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
- Engage in community events and represent the station at various public functions.
- Stay informed on current events and maintain a strong understanding of the local news landscape.
- Adapt quickly to changes and demonstrate a proactive approach to breaking news coverage.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in television reporting, with anchoring experience preferred.
- Proficient in shooting and editing with various software tools.
- Strong writing skills in Spanish, with excellent verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read, and write).
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to provide a portfolio of work samples.
