Position Overview

This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preferred base location in Baltimore. The individual will oversee markets in Baltimore, Southern Maryland, and periodically along the Eastern Shore and Delaware Beaches.

Key Responsibilities

The On-Premise Channel Manager will spearhead the execution of on-premise strategic initiatives across the Mid-Atlantic region. This position is tasked with assessing, implementing, and executing programs aligned with our brand strategies, while also leading, training, and managing local distributor sales teams.

Daily Activities Include:

  • Overseeing daily operations of distributors to ensure compliance with brand policies and achievement of distribution goals.
  • Training distributor sales teams, monitoring competitive market activities, and evaluating distributor performance against our strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborating closely with the Market Manager as a direct report.
  • Engaging with key on-premise accounts to foster strong professional relationships.
  • Promoting our brands to drive volume increases and assist distributors in meeting their objectives.
  • Maintaining a visible presence at distributor offices, engaging with sales representatives and management to ensure brand prominence.
  • Aligning with significant local events and participating where appropriate to execute national initiatives within the local market.
  • Serving as the primary contact for distributor sales teams, ensuring they are well-informed of local and national objectives and providing support for all sales-related activities.
  • Conducting product seminars at accounts and with distributor sales teams.
  • Providing updates on National Account Mandate compliance as necessary.
  • Staying abreast of customer and consumer trends.
  • Maintaining a calendar of activities and promotions to ensure effective communication with distributors and third-party agencies.
  • Submitting monthly market activity reports to the supervisor, detailing objectives, accomplishments, competitive activities, special projects, and any specific needs.
  • Delivering market and competitive brand updates to the supervisor, including timely communication of changing field conditions that may impact volumes and staffing changes at distributors and competitors.
  • Reviewing program effectiveness and execution updates with distributor management.
  • Providing feedback on the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives, including programs, POS, advertising, etc.
  • Assisting with special projects such as verifying pricing and distribution at on-premise accounts as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the distilled spirits or wine supplier industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in gathering data from diverse sources and presenting it in accessible formats.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including strategies for promoting and selling products or services.
  • Effective managerial and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Focus on Management and/or Marketing.
  • Advanced computer skills.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and operate a computer. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
