Job Description

Mavin Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and supervision of new construction and remodeling projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with project managers to plan and coordinate construction projects
  • Lead and oversee subcontractors, foremen, and craft workers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with the General Superintendent
  • Ensure project drawings are up-to-date and organized
  • Complete daily job reports and turn in credit card receipts monthly
  • Record hours and other hourly personnel onsite
  • Provide weekly written coordination schedules
  • Manage a self-imposed punch list prior to OAC punchlist

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years construction experience with at least 2 years as an Assistant Superintendent
  • Robust knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by subcontractors
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications and perform advanced layout
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a licensed driver with reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Ability to effectively schedule and coordinate projects
  • General knowledge and ability to use small tools
  • Basic knowledge of different contract types
  • OSHA 30 Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to climb ladders

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Obtain relevant certifications if required
  • Assist with construction-specific hiring process, including interviews and onboarding
  • Train and mentor other Mavin employees

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to: General Superintendent (coordinates directly with Project Manager as it relates to project-specific details)
  • Direct Reports: Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, and Craftworkers
