Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine medical laboratory tests, phlebotomy functions, and maintaining compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease
  • Process specimens, perform tests, and report results
  • Arrange for pickup or delivery of specimens sent to reference labs or outside labs
  • Maintain records of proficiency testing samples and quality control activities
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activities
  • Recognize factors affecting measurements and results, and correct or refer to appropriate personnel for resolution
  • Communicate test results, normal ranges, and specimen requirements to authorized sources
  • Train students and new employees on technical laboratory skills
  • Ensure patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning
Requirements
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) degree
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience may be required
  • Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures, CLIA regulations, and quality control principles
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to handle competing priorities, and excellent communication skills
