**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team at Ports America Group. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain requirements for import/export cargo.
  • Generate documents and distribute to relevant teams.
  • Prepare and research detention billing, and compare data to ensure accurate refunds to customers.
  • Monitor information into our system, and prepare spreadsheets and letters to customers.
  • File all reports, invoices, and intermodal check logs.
  • Separate and calculate demurrage charges and forward to Finance for billing.
  • Handle driver issues and research problems with shipping lines and dispatchers.
  • Provide assistance to terminal operations teams with reports.
  • Provide timely feedback to management regarding challenges or customer concerns.
  • Communicate and coordinate with colleagues as necessary.
  • Maintain and reconcile all files/records related to customers.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of previous experience in customer service for a container terminal operation, or related industry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card and Maryland Port Administration Badge.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of terminal operations.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including billing.
  • High level of planning and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Motivated and flexible team player.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to use a computer/keyboard more than 50% daily.
  • Frequent sitting, occasional walking and standing.
  • Office environment with exposure to terminal with moving objects and machinery.
