Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Code Compliance Specialist to join our team at Randolph County, NC. As a key member of our Building Inspections department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that residential and commercial building projects meet the North Carolina State Building Codes and local ordinances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review blueprints, surveys, sketches, and specifications for residential and commercial building projects to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Perform on-site inspections to verify compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve code-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and the public on building code-related matters.
Requirements
  • Associates/Technical degree or higher in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or related field.
  • At least six years of experience working in engineering, architecture, construction management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference given to candidates licensed as a professional engineer or registered architect with design, construction, or inspection experience on Level III buildings.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license and good driving record.
