Accounting Clerk Job Description
**About the Role**
Heritage RTC is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our established finance team. This critical role plays a key part in ensuring the financial health and smooth operations of our residential community.
**Responsibilities:**
* Conduct routine data entry management for accounting records, including accounts receivable, billing, and account adjustments.
* Review deposit details, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy and apply necessary adjustments to all related accounts.
* Assist in all aspects of the audit process, contributing to the accuracy and compliance of financial records.
* Post journal entries to the Accounts Receivable (AR) and general ledger as needed, ensuring records are up-to-date and precise.
* May assist with mail pickup and drop-off, customer assistance, and other clerical tasks to support the accounting department.
* Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.
**Qualifications:**
* A high school diploma or equivalent is required
* An associate's degree in business or accounting is preferred, providing foundational knowledge in accounting principles.
* At least three years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting; related business school or college courses may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
**Essential Skills:**
* Strong analytical skills with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* Exceptional customer service skills with clear and professional communication abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing procedures.
