Assistant Director of New Student Programs

Job Summary:

SUNY Brockport is seeking an experienced professional to manage all new student parent and family transition programs. The Assistant Director will be responsible for welcoming new students and ensuring they are connected to the appropriate resources. This will be achieved through comprehensive Golden Eagle Orientation programs, Parent and Family connection and support programs, and engaging students in support initiatives throughout their first year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage new student parent and family transition programs
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Golden Eagle Orientation programs
  • Coordinate Parent and Family connection and support programs
  • Engage students in support initiatives throughout their first year
  • Supervise staff and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and manage budgets for programs and initiatives
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless transition for new students
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible leadership experience in new student and orientation programs, student success, transition programs, or orientation management at a college or university
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Experience developing, organizing, and administering budgets
  • Experience in formulating student outreach initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in new student and orientation programs, student success or transition programs at a college or university
  • Experience managing a budget over $50,000
  • 2+ years of direct professional supervisory experience
  • Strong management of multiple functional areas and organization of institutional resources to meet goals and objectives
Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, varied schedule

Salary and Benefits:

The minimum salary for this position is $63,251. This position is benefits eligible.
