Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator Health Promotion & Prevention Education. Reporting to and under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Wellbeing, the Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day activities to support the Health Promotion & Prevention Education (HPPE) team and enhance student wellbeing.
The Coordinator will be an integral part of planning, implementing, and evaluating programming and educational efforts grounded in harm reduction, social determinants of health, student support and informed decision-making. Educational topics include but are not limited to Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health Promotion, Sexual Health Promotion, Sexual Assault Prevention, Healthy Relationships, Consent, Sleep and Stress Management.
The Coordinator will collaborate with campus and community partners and maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to stay current with trends that impact college students and apply public health theory and practice to positively influence the wellbeing of students at SUNY Brockport.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public health, health promotion, health education or related field from a college or university accredited by the U. S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Involvement in health promotion or related field.
At least 2 years of related work experience or internship/practicum experience.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with cultural humility and social justice practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Supervisory experience.
Experience in training, facilitating workshops, presentations, etc.
Training in motivational interviewing.
Social media and/or marketing experience.
Certification: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $55,584.
