About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Contract Specialist to join our team at Cubic. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing prime contracts, ensuring all obligations are fulfilled, and potential risks are minimized.

You will work closely with project managers and leadership, from the initial proposal stage through contract performance and closeout. Your ability to anticipate and solve complex contractual challenges will help drive the success of high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer a variety of contract types (fixed price, cost-type, time & materials) for systems that include hardware, software, development, and installations for both commercial and government clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for contract-related communications.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contract deliverables and requirements.
  • Support change management activities and collaborate with project managers to develop strategies to resolve contractual issues.
  • Negotiate contract proposals, including change orders, and ensure contract files are complete and organized.
  • Draft, review, and edit contractual agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to management regarding contract performance and potential risks.

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree in a business or technical discipline, and/or the combined equivalent of experience and education.
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in contract management, with a proven ability to lead negotiations and manage various contract types (fixed price, service agreements, hardware/software maintenance, etc.).
  • Must be a US citizen, eligible for DoD security clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of contract formation and administration, especially for federal government and/or commercial clients.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
