About the Opportunity

As a seasoned Director, Bank Business Process Consultant-Bank Disputes, you will oversee a team of professionals responsible for reviewing and refining existing procedures and business processes. Collaborate with leaders to identify process gaps and mitigate potential risks, ensuring alignment with Bank business strategy. Guide team members in working with enterprise leaders and partners to develop and deploy process improvement solutions, maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

This role offers a flexible work environment, requiring an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. The position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply and coordinate reporting, data, and analytics to measure process and project performance, adjust services and operational activities, and inform key team members.
  • Ensure risk mitigation is a top priority by diagnosing and quickly resolving risk opportunities.
  • Influence Bank Disputes Operations and business processes to address risk across all activities.
  • Identify business process risks and ensure that appropriate controls are collected, detailed, sustained, and ultimately mitigated.
  • Drive the development of business process improvements for the Bank that aligns business results, bank strategy, and risk management framework.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and process excellence across various aspects of assigned organization.
  • Guide team members in providing strategic organizational change to ensure sustained and compliant process improvement initiatives.
  • Assess risks associated with current and proposed processes against business objectives and ensure alignment with the bank's risk appetite and risk management framework.
  • Build and be responsible for a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 8 years of experience in business process consultation, process design, developing business processes, procedures, measures, and metrics.
  • 4 years of experience leading programs/projects, business process owner/consultant, or working in an agile environment.
  • 3 years of direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Extensive experience in applying quality management, process improvement, and using process improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Experience applying retail bank subject matter expertise to simplify the customer experience, standardize process execution, and automate where possible.
  • Expert experience/knowledge of Risk Management frameworks and Banking Regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking, and/or evaluation of business processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • Strong understanding of disputes (fraud/non-fraud) for Regulation E and/or Regulation Z.
  • Strong understanding of risk and controls frameworks.
  • Experience working on internal/external audit exams and testing.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to influence change across processes/products.
