Job Description

The Inside Sales Support Representative plays a vital role in supporting our sales team and ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. This position involves handling customer inquiries, processing orders, coordinating with various departments, and providing administrative support to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Support:
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, providing accurate information about products, pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
    • Assist customers with product selection, offering guidance based on their specific needs and applications.
    • Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Order Processing:
    • Accurately enter customer orders into the system, ensuring all details are correct, including product codes, quantities, pricing, and shipping information.
    • Monitor order status and provide customers with updates on their orders, including any delays or changes.
    • Coordinate with the warehouse, shipping, and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Sales Team Support:
    • Assist the sales team with preparing quotes, proposals, and sales presentations, ensuring all documents are accurate and tailored to customer requirements.
    • Maintain and update customer records in the CRM system, ensuring all information is current and properly documented.
    • Generate sales reports, tracking key metrics such as order volume, customer interactions, and sales team performance.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's product offerings, including features, benefits, and typical applications.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings to better assist customers and support the sales team.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management to support the sales team's efficiency.
    • Assist in coordinating sales meetings, training sessions, and other events, ensuring all necessary materials and logistics are prepared.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, customer service, and finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer service and sales support.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify potential leads and follow up on marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
    • 2-4 years of experience in sales support, customer service, or a related role, preferably in an industrial or technical environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with CRM systems, order processing software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • A basic understanding of industrial products and services, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new products.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
    • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
    • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the job.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • The ability to work in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and using a computer.
    • Occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications in customer service, sales, or product management are a plus.
    • Training in specific industry products or software (e.g., ERP systems) is advantageous.
