Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Optimal CAE. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Production Operations: Oversee all production activities, including inbound, outbound, and claims processing.
  • Deliver Business Objectives: Work closely with senior management to deliver key business objectives, including but not limited to:
    • Cover Crews: Ensure that production operations are covered in your absence.
    • Facilitate Crew Meetings: Attend, facilitate, and submit proper documentation for crew meetings.
    • Prepare Work-Related Records: Prepare and maintain work-related records as needed.
    • Schedule Workforce: Schedule the workforce, including overtime and vacation.
    • Lead Continuous Improvement: Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve best-in-class performance.
  • Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
    • Self-Starter: Be a self-starter with a proven track record of success.
    • Supervisory Experience: Have previous UAW/HVC supervisory experience, with a willingness to work rotating shifts when required.
    • System Knowledge: Have knowledge or the ability to learn current systems, including SAP/EWM.
    • Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Data Analysis: Be able to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently.
    • Goal-Oriented: Be a goal-oriented individual with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Organizational Skills: Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to demand accountability from all employees.
  • Additional Requirements: The successful candidate will also be able to:
    • Work Outside Traditional Hours: Work outside of traditional work hours, including some weekends.
    • Adjust Schedule: Be able to adjust their schedule as required, as the business dictates.
    • Proven Dependability: Possess a proven dependability record and successful team-oriented experience.
  • Key Performance Indicators: The successful candidate will be measured on the following key performance indicators:
    • Building Safety: Ensure a safe working environment.
    • UAW Relationships: Foster positive relationships with UAW representatives.
    • Error Rate: Minimize error rates.
    • Denial Rate: Minimize denial rates.
    • Inventory Accuracy: Ensure accurate inventory levels.
    • Overtime Percentage: Minimize overtime usage.
    • Absenteeism: Minimize absenteeism.
    • Vacation Scheduling: Ensure effective vacation scheduling.
    • Grid Time: Ensure efficient use of grid time.
    • On-Time Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of products.
    • ISO 14001 Environmental Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
    • LPMH: Ensure effective use of LPMH.
    • Process Adherence/Improvement: Ensure adherence to and improvement of processes.
    • Accountability: Demand accountability from all employees.
    • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Accurate Application of UAW Contracts: Ensure accurate application of UAW national and local contracts.
    • Direct Supervision/Training of GSR 6 Supervisors: Provide direct supervision and training to GSR 6 supervisors.
    • Building Organization and Cleanliness: Ensure a clean and organized working environment.
    • Grievance Resolution: Ensure effective grievance resolution.
    • Supervision Mentoring: Provide supervision mentoring and support.
    • Willingness to Work All Shifts: Be willing to work all shifts as required.
