Brown Machine Group, an award-winning thermoforming packaging/automation solutions leader, is seeking a skilled Thermoplastics Tooling Specialist to join our growing fiber-based business. This role can be based in the USA.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in mechanical/tooling designs related to paper forming, with expertise in designing tooling systems for paper products and familiarity with fiber-based materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on paper/materials technology to develop new fiber-based products
  • Lead tooling design and participate in customer reviews to interpret requirements into functional and manufacturable designs
  • Create 3D models and drawings for new product development projects
  • Develop prototype samples and validate new tooling through testing plans
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, and shared resources simultaneously
  • Develop paper tooling and technical process standard specifications for newly-developed products
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  2. Minimum 2+ years of experience in design and validation of tooling systems, including trim tooling
  3. Proficient in 3D CAD software and analysis tools
  4. Prior experience in thermoform and paper converting platforms preferred
  5. Familiarity with fiber-based materials, paper, and/or plastic materials and processes preferred
  6. Able to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis
  7. Must be able to travel 20% as required for the role
Estimated Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
