Job Title: Infant Toddler Support Teacher 24-25

Friends School of Baltimore is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant Toddler Support Teacher to join our Little Friends child care program. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 6 weeks to 2 years.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Co-Teacher to plan and implement daily classroom activities, including age-appropriate curriculum and health and safety protocols.
  • Provide emotional, social, and physical support to children, promoting their positive self-concept and development.
  • Work closely with the teaching team, administrators, and specialists to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Document children's progress and development, using this information to inform future planning and instruction.
  • Embody the Quaker values of the school, incorporating them into daily interactions with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily experiences and progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development days, and teacher training to stay up-to-date on best practices and school policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to all school rules and policies.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, understanding, and empathy when working with children and interacting with parents.
  • Knowledge of childcare principles and procedures, including early childhood teaching strategies.
  • CPR Certification, 90 Hour Preschool Certificate, and 45-hour Infant/Toddler Certificate or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
