Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN is responsible for conducting radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. This role requires the ability to operate x-ray equipment, perform x-ray therapy, and explain procedures to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
- Perform x-ray therapy on patients under the supervision of a Radiologist.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
- Position patients utilizing immobilization devices.
- Administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures as needed.
- Operate stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and at patient bedside.
- Take pictures and develop film.
- Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities.
- Orient and mentor new staff members.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
- Assist with transporting patients.
- ARRT NMT Certification or NMT Certification.
- Current FL state licensure (Dept. of Health).
- BLS Healthcare Provider.
