Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN is responsible for conducting radiologic procedures to provide data for patient diagnosis. This role requires a strong understanding of radiologic principles and the ability to operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts
  • Perform x-ray therapy under the supervision of a Radiologist
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
  • Position patients using immobilization devices
  • Administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures as needed
  • Operate stationary and portable equipment in various settings
  • Develop and process radiographic images
  • Monitor and record patient data using computerized documentation systems
  • Utilize knowledge of age-specific patient needs in performance of duties
  • Orient and mentor new staff members
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff
  • Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material
  • Assist with patient transportation
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Requirements
  • ARRT NMT Certification or NMT Certification
  • Current FL state licensure (Dept. of Health)
  • BLS Healthcare Provider
