Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN conducts radiologic procedures to provide data for patient diagnosis. Key responsibilities include operating x-ray equipment, performing x-ray therapy, explaining procedures to patients, and positioning patients for imaging.

Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts.
  • Perform x-ray therapy under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • Communicate with patients, addressing their concerns and explaining procedures.
  • Position patients using immobilization devices.
  • Administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures as needed.
  • Operate stationary and portable equipment in various hospital settings.
  • Develop and process radiographs.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient information using computerized documentation systems.
  • Apply knowledge of age-specific patient needs in performing duties.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
  • Assist with patient transportation.
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements
  • ARRT NMT Certification or NMT Certification.
  • Current FL state licensure (Dept. of Health).
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
