LCA Lab. Corp. of America is looking for a Cytology Specialty Laboratory Technician to become a vital part of our team. This position operates in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting, playing a crucial role in the field of clinical laboratory science.

The working hours for this role will be from Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and categorize clinical laboratory specimens
  • Prepare samples for testing and evaluation
  • Perform scanning and data entry for specimen and patient records
  • Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment and conduct minor maintenance
  • Address any issues related to specimens
  • Restock testing supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative tasks as required
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee safety and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience in a medical/laboratory or production setting is preferred
  • Comfort with handling biological samples
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Capability to thrive in a high-pressure production environment and meet established turnaround times
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color blindness assessment
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
