Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Histology laboratory, supervising technical and support staff, and ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures meet the standards of current state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of technical and support staff in the Histology laboratory
  • Ensure that all departmental policies and procedures meet the standards of current state and federal regulations
  • Monitor and maintain quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Provide technical feedback and guidance to staff
  • Assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Department Director
Requirements
  • 4 years of experience as a histotechnologist with 1 year in a leadership capacity
  • 6 years of experience in histology required for laboratories performing work for NYS
  • Preferred experience in a high-volume independent laboratory
  • HT (ASCP) certification required
  • HTL (ASCP) and IAC certification preferred
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. A working knowledge of LIS and PC network environment, including word-processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, is also required.
