Job Title: QA Lab Assistant

Russell Tobin is seeking a highly skilled QA Lab Assistant to join our team in Knoxville, TN. As a QA Lab Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of materials for testing and aid professional/certified individuals in the performance of various laboratory tests.
  • Receipt and preparation of samples through front-end automation, refrigerated and frozen storage/archive of samples, and use of computerized reports in retrieval and reconciliation of samples from archive for additional testing.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and regulations.
  • Receives specimens and some supplies, processes and records information received from collection centers, handles and tracks donor samples from receipt to final testing, and performs proper disposal of samples into biohazard containers after testing is complete.
  • Follow all safety regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and rules, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation within assigned department, use company laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine testing status of samples, and may handle positive samples.
  • Work within current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adhere to all regulatory standards within the Lab.
  • Assist with monitoring of inventory levels for laboratory supplies applicable to assigned department and notify supervisor of inventory needs.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous lab-related experience is preferred

Interview Process:

  • 1 or 2 rounds of interviews with tour of lab
  • Lab Tour to be included with onsite interview: Candidate must be prepared for lab tour by wearing long pants and close-toed shoes. Client will provide a lab coat for tour.
