Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at LabCorp. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the evaluation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens to determine the presence of malignant or related abnormal conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and evaluate specimens for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions
  • Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures and workload policies
  • Ensure proper documentation of workload recording, including screening and non-screening activities as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines
  • Meet slide screening requirements as per standard operating procedure
  • Finalize testing results into the computer in an accurate and timely manner
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Cytology, or a related science
  • Completion of Cytotechnology certified program
  • ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is required
  • New graduates welcome with completion of requirements above
  • Hologic, image-guided experience preferred
  • ThinPrep certification is a plus
  • Must pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test
  • Demonstrated understanding of Cyto preparation techniques
  • Automated and non-automated testing experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
