Ultrasound Tech PRN Job Opportunity

Iberia Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in New Iberia, LA, is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Tech PRN to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission to be the premier hospital of choice.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ultrasound Tech PRN to perform a variety of technical and imaging procedures, including biopsies, utilizing portable x-ray equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Ultrasound procedures as ordered, including biopsies
  • Utilize portable x-ray equipment as needed
  • Perform Ultrasounds on inpatients, outpatients, and ER patients
  • Transport patients
  • Process films
  • Forward films to Radiologist and discuss findings with ER physician, if needed
  • Assist with peer group interviews
  • Work your share of overtime when heavy workload arises
  • Order and stock supplies
  • Handle equipment problems by investigation, calling repair service, notifying Tech Supervisor or Manager
  • Assist coworkers with transport and procedures
  • Be abreast of all P.I. projects and areas routinely monitored
  • Assist Tech Supervisor and Manager with projects when needed
  • Attend department meetings, hospital in-services
  • Assist in departmental orientation to new employees
  • Follow IMC Standards of Performance, Hospital Goals, Department Goals
  • Responsible for scheduling and cost of continuing education
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Ultrasound program, which is accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Radiology Technology Education (JRCRTE)
  • Valid State Licensure
  • Completion of accredited Ultrasound program
  • JACHO standards
  • Performing all Ultrasound procedures
