Surgical Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Surgery Partners. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and surgical assistants with patient preparation and positioning
  • Participate in the count of sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments
  • Help prepare specimens and assist with the disposition of specimens
  • Apply dressings and assist with patient transfer
  • Clean and restock the procedure room
  • Assist with the maintenance of physician preference cards and inventory management

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program within 18 months of hire
  • CST certification or based on state regulations, they may be grandfathered in, without being certified
  • Prefer 1-2 years clinical experience in an operating room setting
  • Must be certified in Basic Life Support
