Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technician PRN to join our team at Surgery Partners. As a Surgical Technician PRN, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures
  • Set up the sterile field, including surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions
  • Follow state and federal facility regulations when attending to patients
  • Perform pre-procedure preparations to the patient's skin and body
  • Assemble and check sterile and non-sterile equipment
  • Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants
  • Participate in the count of sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments
  • Help prepare specimens and assist with the disposition of specimens
  • Apply dressings and assist with patient transfer from the procedure bed to the stretcher
  • Clean and restock the procedure room
  • Pull supplies and instruments for upcoming procedures
  • Assist with the maintenance of physician preference cards and inventory management
  • Assist with the decontamination and cleaning, sterilization, and performance of quality testing related to sterilization and high-level disinfection
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program within 18 months of hire
  • CST certification or based on state regulations, they may be grandfathered in, without being certified
  • Prefer 1-2 years clinical experience in an operating room setting. May accept 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field
  • Must be certified in Basic Life Support
