Role Summary:
  • The Bilingual Medical Assistant - Float will operate in a fast-paced family practice environment, assisting the physician in delivering care while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to prioritize tasks, pay attention to detail, multitask effectively, and work independently with patients on a daily basis, all while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and prioritize nursing assistance as required by the provider.
  • Support the physician and Nurse Practitioner in examination rooms.
  • Prepare patients for appointments, including measuring weight, vital signs, and gathering medical histories.
  • Complete electronic documentation accurately.
  • Provide patient instructions as directed by the physician or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Conduct in-house laboratory tests (e.g., hemoglobin, strep, flu, lead, immunizations).
  • Perform hearing and vision screenings.
  • Ensure all relevant reports, lab results, and information are organized and accessible in patients' medical records prior to their appointments.
  • Assist the physician with additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient and waiting areas.
  • Communicate results or messages from providers to patients via phone.
  • Keep all logs and required checks up to date.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program/Certification is required.

Skills and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Pediatric Medical Assistant in a medical office is preferred.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Hakha/Burmese is essential.

Additional Information:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems: 1 year (preferred).
  • Experience with vital signs: 1 year (preferred).

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with no weekend shifts.
