Job Title: Corporate Workplace Incident Threat Manager

The Corporate Workplace Incident Threat Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for investigating reports of workplace violence and building partnerships with key stakeholders. This position requires a unique blend of investigative skills, threat assessment expertise, and collaboration with security teams to mitigate risks and ensure a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace-related incidents, including threats from external sources and internal issues such as workplace violence or threats of violence or suicide.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including Security, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Legal, to lead training and awareness sessions on incident prevention and response.
  • Conduct interviews with victims, witnesses, and persons of interest using established interviewing techniques and skills specific to corporate investigations.
  • Provide support and resources to victims, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Conduct threat assessments with a focus on risk mitigation and collaboration with relevant business partners.
  • Develop and maintain highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with clear and precise writing and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Organize, prioritize, and investigate multiple incidents, as part of a caseload, with overlapping deadlines and client-imposed priorities.
  • Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collect, document, and preserve evidence related to investigations, maintaining a structured investigative workflow and case management system.
  • Analyze CCTV video, access control systems, and other data collection capabilities to identify behaviors, root causes, locations, potential evidence, and/or persons involved.
  • Conduct and manage investigations using automated and manual tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat DC, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft Word, Lenel, Microsoft Outlook, and a cloud-based case management system.
  • Pass a background investigation and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Compile and publish case management metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience working in Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Incident Management, Social Services, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Familiarity with professional threat assessment organizations, including the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) (Preferred).
  • Prior experience in conducting in-depth and complex corporate, product, and/or vendor investigations.
  • Ability to learn new methods and approaches to seemingly familiar problems/situations.
  • Experience working in a team environment, with a focus on diversity and shared goals to break through obstacles and solve problems.
  • Familiarity with the investigation of workplace violence cases/issues/incidents utilizing structured professional judgment tools (Preferred).
  • Experience using the P.E.A.C.E. interview method or familiarity with the process (Preferred, but not required).
  • Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information related to security enforcement.
  • Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics of data, people, or things.
  • Interpersonal Temperament: Must be adaptable to performing under considerable stress when confronted with an urgent or emergency situation.
  • Technical Skills: Requires ability to utilize skills relating to computers and electronic devices and grasp related processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to empathize and verbally connect with people during both stressful and non-stressful situations.
  • Ability to use discretion with highly sensitive and confidential information.
