Position Overview


As a Structural Test Engineer, you will collaborate with a government-contractor team to strategize and implement tests on full-scale naval platforms and associated test articles.

This is a full-time, onsite role.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee test planning, design preparation, coordination, and execution of testing events, including comprehensive ship tests.
  • Manage planning and coordination tasks, which encompass test schedules (milestones and deliverables), task breakdowns to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), cost estimations, and resource identification such as equipment, labor, and specialized skill sets.
  • Conduct site surveys and identify/select specialized sensors, along with acquiring, recording, and other instrumentation essential for structural testing.
  • Provide support during test execution, which includes instrumentation installation, real-time data acquisition, and operational test assistance.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and executing structural tests for platforms.

Applicants should possess a strong background in structural test planning, coordination, execution support, instrumentation support, and documentation. Experience with naval platform shock and deep submergence testing is advantageous.

Compensation Range:

$86,000 - $138,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
