We are currently looking for a Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation Engineer to join our team in support of our NAVSEA Carderock client. This role is contingent upon contract award. The ideal candidate will possess extensive subject matter expertise and a minimum of seven years of experience in various NDT&E methods, including but not limited to visual testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, eddy current testing, phased array ultrasonic testing, and computed tomography. A solid understanding of the engineering and research design process, including experimental design and trade-off studies, is essential.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge as evidenced by capabilities outlined in Navy and commercial Nondestructive Testing & Evaluation (NDT&E) specifications, including:
    • Nondestructive Testing Methods (NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB)
    • Nondestructive Testing Acceptance Criteria (MIL-STD-2035)
    • Personnel Qualification and Certification in Nondestructive Testing (ASNT SNT-TC-1A)
    • Nondestructive Examination Requirements (NAVSEA)
    • Nondestructive Examination Requirements for Special Applications (MIL-STD-2132)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certifications aligned with NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 or ASNT methodologies are highly desirable
  • Experience in assessing risk related to nondestructive testing and evaluation decisions, particularly concerning nonconformance to specifications
  • Familiarity with probability of detection (POD) methodologies in Nondestructive Evaluation System Reliability Assessment (MIL-HDBK-1823A) or similar
  • Experience with modeling and simulation in NDT
Security Clearance Requirement: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
