Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and detail-oriented Senior Financial Specialist to become a part of our fast-paced team.

This is a permanent role, presenting an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with a vibrant group of professionals and significantly contribute to our financial health.

The Senior Financial Specialist will be tasked with the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, journal entries, and management of the general ledger.

This position is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and will play a key role in our month-end closing process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and review of income and expense accounts.
  • Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, collaborating closely with various department heads to ensure accurate and timely projections.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an accounting role, focusing on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Proven experience in managing the month-end closing process.
  • Proficient in financial reporting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification is highly desirable.
