Job Summary: We are seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy classes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and phlebotomy, as well as experience in teaching and instructional methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy classes, including Clinical Procedures, Laboratory Techniques, Pharmacology, Dosage Calculations, Pathophysiology, Administrative Procedures, and Phlebotomy.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) Core Curriculum.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy program.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an associate degree in a related health field with work experience or completion of a Certificate Program with work experience.
  • Credentialing in good standing in medical assisting, by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or under International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
  • Experience related to the profession of medical assisting.
  • Documented education in instructional methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Phlebotomy Certification.
  • Medical Assisting Certification.
  • Active, unencumbered Kentucky PN or RN license.
  • 1 year related and current work experience.
