Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant Endocrinology will be responsible for coordinating direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Check in patients, obtain vital signs, and medication reconciliation
  • Obtain patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, and rooming patients
  • Stock clinic with supplies, navigate electronic health record system (EPIC), and schedule appointments
  • Assist with medication fill and refill requests, check for prior authorizations, and schedule tests, procedures, and consultations
  • Perform other procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests, and injections (once competency has been assessed)
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
  • Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
  • Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days
  • One of the following: prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties, Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA), or completed any MA education program but has not received certification as of yet
Preferred Requirements:
  • Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current Licensure without restrictions
