POSITION SUMMARY

The Metal Fabrication Specialist will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of structural metal components, including frameworks and shells for various machinery, tanks, and building elements. This role involves executing a variety of tasks to ensure high-quality production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and developing layouts for fabrication processes.
  • Marking and identifying cutting and bending lines on materials.
  • Setting up and operating various fabrication machinery, including brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses.
  • Shaping and preparing metal components through hammering, grinding, and preheating.
  • Aligning, fitting, and welding parts together with precision.
  • Creating templates and fixtures for production.
  • Ensuring that all fabricated items meet specified standards.
  • Assembling sheet metal products with accuracy.
  • Operating machine tools relevant to fabrication tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

OR

- One to three months of relevant experience or training

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural documents. Proficient in writing routine reports and communicating effectively with team members.

MATH SKILLS

Competence in calculating figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, and measurements. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts is essential.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply logical reasoning to carry out instructions provided in various formats. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple variables in standardized scenarios.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands of this position require the employee to regularly stand and occasionally walk, sit, climb, or balance. The role may involve lifting and moving items weighing up to 100 pounds.
