POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of a CNC Machining Specialist is to set up, operate, and manage machines for drilling, boring, reaming, milling, and countersinking metal or plastic components. If you have experience with CNC machines, brake presses, or large routers, you may be the ideal candidate. We seek a reliable and responsible individual who values safety and is eager to learn. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure machined components meet specifications using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Review machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine specifications, operational sequences, setups, and tooling needs.
  • Select and adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cuts based on machining instructions or material properties.
  • Install and change tools in machines as necessary.
  • Secure workpieces on tables using bolts, jigs, clamps, or other devices.
  • Control machine operations to engage automatic feeds and lower tools to workpieces.
  • Direct the flow of coolants or cutting oils during machining processes.
  • Operate drill presses to create holes for further machining on components.
  • Establish reference points on workpieces for accurate machining.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify and resolve issues.
  • Lift and position workpieces manually or with hoists.
  • Use layout tools to mark reference lines and machining locations on workpieces.
  • Verify alignment of workpiece reference lines with table rotation axes.
  • Utilize tracing attachments to replicate contours from templates.
  • Measure finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform basic calculations for measurements.
  • Effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

OR

- One to three months of relevant experience and/or training

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
