The Customer Specialist role is a pivotal front-line position responsible for delivering outstanding service to our banking clientele, both within the branch and at the drive-thru. This role encompasses a comprehensive range of banking services, from assessing the most suitable Richwood Bank account for a customer to facilitating account openings and transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers warmly
  • Process all transactions for customers across various financial account types and requests
  • Open accounts and educate customers on maximizing their benefits
  • Assist new clients in seamlessly transferring funds through our switch program
  • Ensure accurate daily cash drawer balances
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of all accounts, products, and services available
  • Address customer inquiries regarding all account and service needs
  • Provide additional services such as notary, faxing, and check orders
  • Stay informed about rates for CDs, savings IRAs, and interest-bearing checking accounts
  • Understand customer needs and recommend optimal solutions for their success
  • Support team members with various office tasks, including inventory management and event preparations
  • Perform daily transaction scanning into the computer system
  • Demonstrate proficiency in drive-thru operations, including speaker and transaction drawers/tube
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Manager
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Exceptional customer service abilities
  • Capacity to prioritize and make immediate decisions regarding customer transactions, balancing satisfaction with bank risk
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • In-depth understanding of our banking products and services
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Aptitude for identifying opportunities to educate customers about additional products and services (cross-promotion)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized and methodical approach to tasks
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards colleagues and customers
  • Familiarity with various federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and others relevant to banking operations
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Eagerness to learn about new technologies in the banking sector
  • Proficient typing skills and basic computer literacy, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; college education preferred
  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience required
  • Cash handling experience preferred
