Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner)

Overview:

This position is part of a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) initiative aimed at recruiting qualified candidates for essential roles within the Department of Defense.


Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will take on the role of an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner), primarily responsible for conducting comprehensive medical evaluations and meticulously documenting patient medical histories and findings. This information is crucial for assessing the eligibility of candidates for service in the Armed Forces.


Key Duties:
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments of applicants in line with established agency protocols.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of all applicants while ensuring professionalism within the medical team.
  • Facilitate the medical prescreening process as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Engage in detailed face-to-face medical history interviews with authorized applicants.
  • Complete all required medical documentation accurately, utilizing both electronic and traditional methods.
  • Evaluate reported health issues and recommend further examinations as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to assess applicants' physical and mental readiness for military service.
  • Perform follow-up evaluations for previously qualified applicants to confirm their compliance with military standards.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a valid and unrestricted nursing license and hold a National Board Certification in a relevant nursing specialty. Experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting is essential.
