Newborn Hearing Screen Technician

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a key member of our audiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality newborn hearing screening services under the supervision of a licensed Audiologist.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct newborn hearing screening using established department protocols and equipment, including otoacoustic emissions and automated auditory brainstem response testing.
- Follow established competencies on infant handling and infection prevention protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Document results from testing equipment in the Electronic Medical Record and forward to the Audiologist for interpretation and recommendations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones, taking messages, and routing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Register and schedule patients in department computer systems, authorize insurance, process payments, and collect necessary test results for clinicians.
- Maintain supply inventory, files, records, statistics, and manage data as assigned.
- Participate in meetings and on committees, representing the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6 to 12 months of related experience preferred.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $35.291 and the opportunity to work with a leading healthcare system in the Baltimore-Washington metro region.
