ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will deliver a comprehensive array of quality, client-centered services including personal assistance, light domestic tasks, meal preparation, and recreational activities in a supportive home environment for individuals residing in the community. This role may occasionally require flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. Candidates must exhibit a positive demeanor, foster a constructive workplace atmosphere, and eliminate negativity. Proof of vaccination is a prerequisite for this position.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A genuine willingness and enthusiasm to engage with individuals in their home, particularly those with significant disabilities, while being attuned to their emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and social needs with a compassionate and empathetic approach in alignment with our Person-Centered Philosophy of care and our vision of ENRICHING LIVES DAILY.
  • Ability to connect with residents and colleagues in a compassionate, respectful manner, demonstrating strong customer service and stakeholder awareness, while recognizing each client as an individual deserving of self-respect and privacy.
  • Capability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, under supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
  • Dependable, responsible, and trustworthy.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and resourceful, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and reading.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Reliability and commitment to regular attendance, with the ability to perform essential physical tasks involving lifting, bending, and stretching.
