Job Summary

We're seeking a dynamic leader to join our People function as a VP of Human Resources. This individual will be responsible for leading a small team of People professionals to uplevel our human capital capabilities and build a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Lifecycle Management
    • Improve our ability to source high-quality, diverse candidates who add to Allbirds' incredible culture
    • Enhance interview processes to consistently identify top talent while eliminating bias
    • Create programs for developing and advancing internal talent to assist in their career development and improve retention
  • Performance Management
    • Improve career-level frameworks for all functions at Allbirds that set high standards and expectations for our employees
    • Iterate on our Performance Management tools and processes to create appropriate advancement plans for employees of all performance levels
  • Retail Store Management
    • Operate as a key liaison between the People and Retail teams to ensure strategies, initiatives, and policies are scalable and support the needs of the evolving and growing Retail teams
    • Work closely with our legal team to maintain compliance with all employment laws as we expand with retail stores across the US and abroad
  • Business Partnership
    • Partner with the Executive Team to develop a talent management strategy that supports business objectives and enables operational excellence
    • Partner with key functional leaders to optimize organizational design and staffing, performance management, and other management priorities
  • Employer Brand Development
    • Choose the right investments and partner with Marketing and Communications to share our employer brand story internally and externally and ensure it reflects our culture and values
  • Employee Relations
    • Create and augment existing channels for employees to discuss sensitive personal or professional matters
    • Intervene in sensitive people matters and liaise with various executives across the company to reach appropriate resolutions to employee relations issues
  • Compensation & Benefits
    • Work closely with the Total Rewards team to augment our compensation philosophy, tactics, and implementation of an effective compensation program
  • HR Scaling
    • Improve efficiency at scale by designing, implementing, and maintaining processes, tools, and systems needed to grow and support people operations
    • Define and launch programs and/or manage training for DEIB, workplace conduct, etc.
  • Hybrid Workforce and Culture
    • Help build the environment to support a thriving culture while navigating the complexities of a hybrid, multi-office, international, and retail workforce
    • Create best-in-class programs, events, and communication channels to cultivate connection and belonging for employees
    • Set ways of working that are adopted by employees to thrive in a hybrid environment

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in human resources across multiple functions
  • Deep experience working with global companies with a large Retail Store fleet
  • Change management experience with rapid growth, geographically dispersed companies
  • Strong knowledge of State/Federal employment law across the US
  • Bachelor's degree or PHR/SPHR
