Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the Justice, Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing technical work in the field of diagnostic radiologic examinations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing diagnostic radiologic examinations and procedures, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Administering radiologic procedures following physicians' orders and maintaining equipment used in the Radiology Department.
  • Providing modern imaging technology to patients, including diagnostic ultrasound and conventional X-ray.
  • Maintaining accurate records of radiographs and distributing reports to be placed in patient charts.
  • Assisting in the performance of ultrasound and echocardiogram studies.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75, including successful completion of an educational program and certification as a radiographer.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade, including experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a correctional institution and requires the incumbent to maintain the security of the institution. The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
