Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist II at Sutter Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic radiographic examinations, operating complex diagnostic equipment, and ensuring timely completion of routine and priority tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic examinations, including DXA Bone Density and X-rays.
  • Operate complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in radiological diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
  • Explain procedures, medications, and contrast media to patients, alleviating fear and anxiety.
  • Mentor and educate students and new technologists, fostering a constructive environment for skill development.
  • Perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and retrieving/entering patient electronic health records.
  • Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient procedures and exam charges.
  • Inventory and order accessories and supplies to maintain established stock levels.
  • Implement safety standards to minimize radiation exposure, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Inspect and calibrate equipment, recording quality control results and reporting malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient protected health information and adhere to department standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider upon hire.
  • RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate.
  • 2 years recent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine radiographic examinations and basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and work within standardized operating procedures.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.
