POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves preparing reconciliations and analytical activities across diverse general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies; regularly generating federal, state, and municipal filings; and performing general accounting maintenance tasks as outlined in the essential duties and responsibilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees, records, and tracks fixed asset and depreciation activities, ensuring reconciliation with general accounts to uphold accurate accounting and reporting records; collaborates with relevant bank personnel to investigate and resolve discrepancies; prepares property tax returns related to fixed assets and government surveys.

Conducts reconciliations and analyses of general ledger activities in assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts to guarantee accurate transaction recording, encompassing assets, capital leases, notes payable, expense reserves, various liabilities, shareholder equity, and other accounts.

Develops and maintains spreadsheets for projects in progress, reconciling balances with general ledger accounts; analyzes and records appropriate expense treatments for project expenditures; communicates project statuses to relevant bank personnel; ensures adherence to approved budgets.

Prepares sales tax returns, business license renewals, regulatory assessments, and other routine federal, state, and municipal filings for management review and approval; serves as a backup for various accounting functions while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties as per bank-adopted internal controls.

Performs additional work-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential duty. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a finance-related field, or four years of accounting, financial industry, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.


Preferred:
The minimum qualifications plus experience in fixed assets accounting.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Proficiency in typing at least 35 wpm and operating a 10-key calculator by touch is required. Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software is essential.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business publications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to management and bank employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Competence in applying basic algebra concepts.

REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Capable of performing a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and managing several abstract variables.
