Position Overview

The Childcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the educational experience at The Father's House Child Development Center. This position involves providing assistance across various classrooms, ensuring a safe and engaging atmosphere for children. The ideal candidate will exhibit adaptability and a strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support lead educators in managing classroom activities and dynamics.
  • Offer personalized attention to children, fostering their individual growth.
  • Oversee children during recreational activities, meals, and rest periods.
  • Prioritize the safety and welfare of children consistently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning.
  • Fill in for teachers during breaks, ensuring seamless care and supervision.
  • Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of toys, equipment, and facilities.
  • Help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Support children during mealtime, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Assist with personal care routines, including diaper changes and toilet training.
  • Set up and tidy up after activities, ensuring readiness for the next session.
  • Engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up, providing updates on their child's progress.
  • Help organize and supervise special events and outings.
  • Observe and report on children's behavior and development to lead educators.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in various areas of the childcare center as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities is crucial.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a plus.
