This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support lead educators in managing classroom activities and dynamics.
  • Provide personalized attention to children, addressing their individual needs.
  • Oversee children during play, meals, and rest periods.
  • Prioritize the safety and welfare of all children at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the facility.
  • Fill in for teachers during breaks, ensuring seamless care and supervision.
  • Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of toys, equipment, and common areas.
  • Help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Support children during mealtime, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Assist with diapering and toilet training as necessary.
  • Set up and dismantle activity areas, ensuring all materials are ready and spaces are tidy.
  • Engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up, providing updates on their child's experiences.
  • Help organize and supervise special events and outings.
  • Observe and report on children's behavior and development to lead educators.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in various areas of the childcare center as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a passion for working with young children.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and needs.
  • Successful completion of a background check and health screening is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
