Position Overview

The Childcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere within our childcare center. This position requires a proactive individual who can seamlessly adapt to various classroom environments and assist in the daily operations of the center.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support lead educators in managing classroom activities and dynamics.
  • Provide personalized attention to children, catering to their individual needs.
  • Oversee children during play, meal times, and rest periods to ensure their safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized space conducive to learning and play.
  • Fill in for teachers during breaks, ensuring consistent care and supervision.
  • Assist in the sanitization of toys, equipment, and facilities to promote health and safety.
  • Help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, encouraging healthy eating habits.
  • Support children with personal care tasks, including diaper changes and toilet training.
  • Prepare and tidy up after activities, ensuring materials are ready for use.
  • Engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up, providing updates on their child's progress.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising special events and outings.
  • Observe and document children's behavior and development, communicating any concerns to the lead educator.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in various areas of the childcare center as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the center.
  • Successful completion of a background check and health screening is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a plus.
