Senior Preschool Educator

We are seeking a full-time Senior Preschool Educator to create a nurturing, engaging, and educational atmosphere for our early learners. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high-quality experience for children and families that embodies the YMCA principles of integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and faith.
- Execute educational programs within the prescribed framework.
- Plan and facilitate activities that encourage physical, cognitive, and social growth, including games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
- Establish and uphold guidelines to foster positive behavior among children.
- Attend to children's essential needs, including supervising meal times, outdoor play, and free play activities.
- Conduct parent meetings and maintain constructive relationships and open communication with families. Involve parents as active participants.
- Keep accurate program documentation.
- Participate in family events, program initiatives, staff meetings, and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent OR a degree in a related field.
- Completion of DCF MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 & 2) is necessary.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in preschool education is required.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Must pass a background check.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to engage with infants, toddlers, and young children for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors.
- Familiarity with outdoor activities and educational programming is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and listen. The employee is regularly required to walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Capability to plan, lead, and engage in activities is essential.
Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on experience.
