Salary: Up to £43,260 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible working with core hours to be covered)

Role Overview:

The Sustainability and Environmental Compliance Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the ISO14001 management system.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental legal requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing sustainability improvements across the organization.
  • Setting and achieving environmental and sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborating with team members to foster a strong sustainability culture.
  • Managing relationships with external contractors, agencies, and local authorities.
  • Planning and executing internal environmental audits.
  • Delivering training and education on environmental and sustainability practices to all departments and EHS representatives.
  • Overseeing the daily responsibilities of EHS representatives.
  • Supporting Net Zero initiatives to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets.
  • Preparing annual sustainability performance reports.
  • Ensuring safety in all operational activities.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions and implementing reduction strategies.
  • Background in a production or manufacturing environment (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in presenting findings and reports to management.
  • Relevant qualifications in Environmental or Sustainability fields, such as NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent.
