We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team at Eddie Bauer. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing product costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Product Cost Tracking and Analysis: Responsible for accounting, tracking, and analysis of component-level product costs, ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare merchandise forecasts for weekly cash flow and payment approval, and reconcile rebates with weekly payments and the rebate program.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Logistics, and Production teams to develop standard freight costs and adjust them on a seasonal basis.
- Cost Accounting and Analysis: Calculate and explain purchase price variances (actual cost vs. standard cost) on a monthly basis, and accrue costs for goods in transit to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- General Ledger Reconciliation: Perform account analysis and reconciliation of various General Ledger activity for all cost of goods expenses.
- Management Reporting: Create and publish management-level reporting of inbound Freight expenses.
- Special Projects: Participate in various aspects of the annual budget process and work on special projects as directed by Finance and Accounting leadership.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of work experience in Cost Accounting, General Accounting, or Financial Analysis, with experience in the apparel industry a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, ability to manage, analyze, and maneuver large data sets from several sources, and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners, spanning multiple brands and departments within the organization.
- Authorization: Must have authorization to work in the United States.
