Project Accountant Specialist

A construction company in Bothell is seeking a skilled project accountant to join their team. The company specializes in engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction services, adding beauty and structure to communities through high-performance buildings and smart infrastructure.
The project accountant will be actively involved in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost processes on assigned projects. They will work closely with the project team to manage the financial functions for the project, including:
- Managing accounts payable processing, ensuring proper sales and use taxes are applied, and keeping accounts up to date.
- Ensuring proper contract values are in the accounting software for all committed costs.
- Ensuring all project costs are posted prior to client billings.
- Responsible for client billings, ability to read construction contracts to determine billing deadlines, billable and non-reimbursable expenses, and approved billing rates for staff and field labor.
- Reconciling monthly client billings and generating periodic project cost reports.
- Managing project financial closeout, ensuring final contract amounts and closeout documentation has been received from all subcontractors prior to issuing final payments.
- Assisting in audits and other duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Construction accounting, AP, and/or AR experience.
- Familiarity with construction contracts preferred.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to pay attention to detail is a must.
- Proficient in MS Office, with a focus on Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using Deltek Advantage Software.
