Job Summary

This is an entry-level management position that focuses on supporting the day-to-day activities of Rooms Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of Rooms Operations, including opening and closing Front Desk shifts, ensuring completion of assigned shift checklists, and operating department equipment.
  • Run and review critical information contained in room operations reports, understand the functions of various operations, and ensure employees have the proper supplies and uniforms.
  • Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures, communicate performance expectations to employees, and handle employee questions and concerns.
  • Effectively schedule employees to business demands and track employee time and attendance.
  • Supervise same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy, verify accuracy of room rates, and use budgets and operating statements to assist in the management of Room Operations.
  • Participate in the management of departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals and understand the impact of Room Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the investigation of employee and guest accidents, assist in the use of a guest information tracking system, and set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints, and assist in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year of experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
